The French market for clothing & footwear

Article Abstract:

A report on the French clothing and footwear retail industry from 1995-1998 and related forecasts through year 2003 are presented. The industry is divided into five major product sectors, namely menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, footwear and accessories. In 1998, French consumers spent FF193,442 million on clothing and footwear, representing an increase of 1.8% between 1995 and 1998. However, the industry declined by 2.2% in real value terms for the same period.
