Heisey, Walshe land new jobs

Article Abstract:

Robin Heisey has resigned from Toronto advertising agency Gee Jeffery & Partners to assume his new post as Exec VP and Creative Director at Harrod & Mirlin/FCB, also of Toronto. Heisey has also worked for the Toronto offices of Young & Rubicam, Bozell and McCann-Erickson during his 18 years in the industry. On the other hand, Patrick Walshe has joined the Toronto office of Carat Canada as its COO. He was previously the VP for media buying services at the Toronto office of Harrison Young Pesonen & Newell.

The Texas ad man behind Bush

Article Abstract:

Jim Ferguson, president and chief creative officer of Young and Rubicam Inc (Y&R), is the man behind George W Bush' public image. Ferguson created a brain trust consisting of top executives from Y&R, Lintas Lowe and TWBA/Chiat/Day that became known as the Park Avenue Posse. He said that when he took the job of marketing Bush to the American public, he looked at the presidential candidate more as a brand. Ferguson added that Bush is a hero brand, who can elicit positive reactions from the American people.

Caron heads CanWest sales unit

Article Abstract:

Rosanne Caron, VP for integrated business solutions at CanWest Global, has been appointed as head of a new stand-alone sales unit that will promote the converging menu of media properties to advertisers. The new unit to be called Integrated Business Solutions Teams, will be staffed by account executives with experience in TV, print and Internet advertising. Caron's advertising background includes stints in marketing and research at Web network Canoe and Mediacom.
