The biggest fish

Article Abstract:

CSIRO, Australia's government research agency, and CALM, the Dept of Conservation and Land Management, have established that around 200 whale sharks congregate each autumn off Ningaloo Reef, near Exmouth, Western Australia. The whale sharks are now attracting around 3,000 people a year, who will pay $140 a day to swim with them. The government wishes to find out more about whale sharks, thus allowing it to balance the needs of the whale sharks against the desire to attract tourist revenue. CALM has now published a new plan for the whale shark eco-tourist industry.
