The course scheduling problem at Lufthansa technical training

Article Abstract:

A heuristic scheme along with some priority regulations and a local research algorithm were developed to meet the course scheduling problem of Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT). The best developed schedule is considerably better in terms of profit margin assumed than the solution manually made by LTT. The algorithms can be employed into a decision support system with database access and easy interactive dialogue properties. Advantages generated from such a system include boost of profit margin and decrease in travel cost and times, faster and therefore cheaper generation of operational schedules.

An iterative scheduling technique for resource-constrained project scheduling

Article Abstract:

An iterative method for scheduling projects with limited resources is demonstrated for more efficient implementation in various applications. The method calls for repeated forward and backward scheduling of a project until there is no more improvement in the completion time. The process aims to produce schedules which will complete a project in the minimum time and at the least cost.
