Effem hands $11M to MediaVest

Article Abstract:

Effem has awarded its $11-million consolidated media buying and planning account to MediaVest Canada. Effective Jan 1, 2000, MediaVest will handle all the media responsibilities for Effem's confectionery products, including M&M's and Twix, as well as its Whiskas petcare products and Uncle Ben's food products. MediaVest Pres Sherland Forde said Effem is resorting to a unusual way of buying and planning media by looking at it as a total marketing communication plan.

The dealer association as brand

Article Abstract:

The Ontario Toyota Dealers Assn has awarded its advertising account to Gee Jeffery and Partners Advertising. The organization arrived at the decision in a desire to do away with the familiar price-focused auto ads and create a new print and TV campaign that aims to brand the dealers themselves. Vito Greto, the association's group account director, said its new advertising campaign touts Toyota dealerships as the place to go to when consumers want to buy a new car.

Roger reconnects to Gee Jeffery

Article Abstract:

Rogers AT and T Wireles has decided to hand part of its account to its former advertising agency, Toronto, Ontario-based Gee Jeffrey and Partners. In its contract, Rogers AT and T required the agency to create an advertising campaign that will target the youth market. The company hopes to increase its wwireless market share by appealing to people ages 12 to 17.
