The decontamination of the territory Karolina

Article Abstract:

OKD Rekultivace (Ostrava, Czech Republic), decontamination job supplier, should complete the maintenance of the territory Karolina in the centre of Ostrava in 2004. The total costs on the decontamination of the territory with a total area of 30 ha are estimated at more than 1 bil Kc, according to the 1998 data. OKD Rekultivace started the project by maintenance research in 1997. The territory Karolina, which was utilised for extensive industrial activities during 1842-1986, has been affected by old environmental burdens. Coking plants for the production of coking side-line products were placed in the territory, among others.

Closures, detours, speed limits: the visiting card of road building

Article Abstract:

Czech Republic: More than 30% of the road network are in the state of disrepair in 1999. The total length of the network is 55,500 km. The network includes motorways with a length of 500 km, high-speed roads with a length of more than 300 km and first-class roads with a length of 3,400 km. The main reasons for the disrepair state of the road network are lorry traffic and the bad quality of the road constructions which were realised before 1989.

Several hundreds of columns to Germany

Article Abstract:

Rastra CZ (Pardubice, Czech Republic), building material manufacturer, has been awarded a contract to supply 240 large concrete columns to Germany. The columns are intended for the construction of a community centre in Duesseldorf, Germany. The columns will be produced by the firm's plant in Ceperka, the Czech Republic. The columns will include locksmith units demanded by their consumer. The columns will be supplied by camions to the consumer.
