The design of the euro banknotes does no favours to architecture

Article Abstract:

Because euro design-competition rules excluded the use of historic figures, recognizable buildings and monuments on the currency, the new euro banknotes have an unremarkable appearance. The notes feature pictures of fictitious buildings and bridges that are vaguely reminiscent of famous architectural works. The designs only downplay the importance of architecture and deny credit to famous architects.

Lavish, visionary architecture puts the user in the driving seat

Article Abstract:

The architecture of a car is more intricate, better constructed, more compact, and involves more hours of design work than any building. A car fits somewhere between an item of clothing and a building in terms of cost, appearance, size, and many other comparable aspects.
