The 'final order' problem

Article Abstract:

The problem associated with calculating an optimal final order for spare components was addressed through utilization of decomposition strategy. Through decomposition, a simple optimality situation for calculating optimal final orders was obtained. The strategy showed that a multi-component final order problem can be broken down into single component final order problems when the penalties for out-of-order machine are greater compared to buying and stocking components costs.
