The name game

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom Labor party could lose in local elections in Liverpool, England. Voters tend to be apathetic in Liverpool, with low turnouts. There are different candidates describing themselves from the Labor party, and there are still Liberal politicians who have not accepted the merger with the Social Democrats which created the Liberal Democrats in the 1980s. Liverpool's municipal services have a poor record, and privatization appears attractive. There is a lack of coherence in the political message of both the Labor and Liberal Democrat parties.

Labour's local problem

Article Abstract:

There have been a number of inquiries into local government in the United Kingdom involving allegations against the Labor party. These include allegations relating to planning procedures in Doncaster, and allegations about membership irregularities in Birmingham. In Newark, an inquiry is under way relating to election expenses, and there has been faction fighting in South Tyneside. The Labor party dominates a number of local areas, and struggles for political power involve seeking to control the local Labor party.

Tomorrow belongs to me

Article Abstract:

United Kingdom prime minister, Tony Blair, argues that he represents progressive policies and not conservative policies. He sees conservatism in the Conservative Party and in the left wing of the ruling Labor Party. His view of conservatism appears to be that it is anything that he disagrees with. He also argues that the Labor Party favors majorities and not minorities, though there may be a majority opinion in favor of views that he opposes.
