The price of the Holocaust

Article Abstract:

Germany has paid reparations for the Holocaust of $60 billion, and there are calls for more payments to be made. These calls are especially strong in the US, and German businesses and banks are settling up a fund to pay compensation to victims, including former slave laborers. US companies also face claims, and claims are being made in other countries. Some compensation is necessary, especially when companies have not paid what is owed on policies or deposits. The call for compensation also involves a drive by politicians to gain ethnic votes, and lawyers obtain large fees.

John Coale's next case

Article Abstract:

Lawyer, John Coale, has been involved in a number of significant legal actions, and he has turned his attention to gun control. Past cases include action against school boards over allegations of over-prescription for Attention Deficit Disorder, and against Ford Motor over school bus design. Coale aims to create a bandwagon with his action against gun producers, and has been in touch with the media to attract attention to his action. He argues that the government is forced to take action on issues that he deals with.
