The sound of shapes

Article Abstract:

Dolphins have a fine sense of echolocation which is used when they interpret sound waves resulting from their clicking noises bouncing off surfaces. Humans use spectrum analysis to try to begin to imitate the defining of shape by interpreting sound. Some experiments with dolphins are described.

The sound barrier: Britain's music business

Article Abstract:

The UK's National Heritage Commission published a report on May 11, 1993 accusing the compact disc industry of monopolistic practices that result in sharply higher CD prices in Britain than in the US. The Monopolies and Mergers Commission is likely to launch a full investigation.
