The tail that wags the bulldog

Article Abstract:

Japanese and Korean investments to Wales, UK, between April 1983 and January 1997 amounted to 10 billion pounds sterling and 155,000 jobs were created, yet Wales is still a very poor area and does not appear to have really benefited from these investments. Japan and Korea are interested in having a cheap base from which to manufacture and sell their goods to the European market and would readily move to another region if costs rise because the UK chooses not to participate in the European single currency.

Flawed?

Article Abstract:

Many small firms fail to consult lawyers at the right stage in a business dispute, and can therefore end up losing cases and incurring high costs. Small businessmen often feel that it is too expensive to employ a lawyer, so attempt to deal with disputes themselves, which can in fact make the situation worse. Bringing in a lawyer at an early stage can often mean that it is possible to avoid litigation altogether.
