The Pearl River Delta region encompassing south China, Macau and Hong Kong is emerging as a single tourist destination region, thanks in part to unifying movements in infrastructure development. Leading the way are several major international airports either newly in service or still under construction, most notably Hong Kong's at Chek Lap Kok. Officials for Hong Kong, Great Britain, China, Macau, and Portugal all seem to be working well together to solve the emerging practical problems, especially how to coordinate regional air traffic.
