At the 'Intervening in the European City' conference, Massimiliano Fuksas managed to present the most sparkling array of projects - each of which were different and could not be labeled as a particular 'house style'. His comment is that the 'historical significance' of a site is much more important than the 'visual significance' and his architectural style should be an inspiration for UK architects.

Late Andrew Doolan's last building, a modern extension to a Victorian suburban building is situated in Edinburgh's Grange district. The building, a clear winner of Edinburgh Architectural Association Awards for 2004, was designed to express as little structural framing as possible and by silvering even the internal steel columns.
