Time Telecom IPO raises stakes in crowded cellular sector

Article Abstract:

The cellular phone company Time Telecommunications Holdings plans to grab a larger share of the Malaysian cellular phone market while entering the stock market through its unique offering of convertible loan stock, which can be exchanged for shares that include a telephone package. Securities analysts are wary of the offer, noting that it might not produce the necessary effect for Time Telecom, since the company did not release specifics about the package which could be used to gauge investor response.

Malaysia's TRI may be best connection to tangled telecommunications sector

Article Abstract:

Several stock analysts predict that Technology Resources Industries (TRI) could become the only company to survive Malaysia's telecommunications industry restructuring. However, such a prediction depends largely on the success of TRI's planned tie-up with a foreign company, the state of the telecommunications industry after the restructuring and its planned flexible pricing scheme. Rumors about the tie-up have already stimulated a significant increase in TRI's share prices.

A snub by Morgan draws bargain-hunters to Indosat

Article Abstract:

Share prices of Indonesian Satellite Corp. (Indosat) have rebounded since falling drastically after Telkom's listing on the Indonesian stock market. Another factor that contributed to the stock's decline was its dropping from the Morgan Stanley Capital International index in favor of Telkom. However, many analysts predict slower earnings growth for Indosat in 1996.
