Towards an integrated framework for forest fire control

Article Abstract:

An integrated system consisting of a geographical information system (GIS) module, a mathematical programming (MP) and a stimulation module for forest fire control are presented. The use of the GIS simplifies the computation of the distances between the various spatial points and the speed of the vehicles of different size and capacity and that the system can incorporate analytical models concerned with the prediction of fire behavior.
