Toyota considers Michigan as site for new engine plant

Article Abstract:

The Japanese auto maker's plants employ thousands of American workers and the Michigan plant has been courted by Governor Jennifer Granholm as a potentially valuable economic asset. Toyota's decision to build what would be its third U.S. plant is also being seen as a way for the company to make a gesture of goodwill at a time when the big U.S. auto makers are laying off workers and experiencing a downturn in business.
