UBS net profit increases 15% on strength in private banking

UBS AG of Switzerland, the banking giant, posted 15 percent net profit gain to $2.19 billion, return on equity rose to 32 percent from 29 percent and fixed income revenue fell 14 percent to $2.22 billion francs in the first quarter. Strong revenue from private banking made up for slow revenue in investment banking.

Credit Suisse net rises, but 'gaps' linger at CSFB

Credit Suisse Group the banking giant, is continuing to integrate Credit Suisse First Boston to create performance maximum. Credit Suisse Group's fourth-quarter net income rose 22 percent to $807.5 million, aided by trading income and corporate as well as private banking.
