UK: LIFE INSURERS CONSIDER USING MULTI-TIED AGENTS

Article Abstract:

Over 50% of top life insurance companies in the UK are looking at using multi-tied agents following the decision of the Financial Services Authority to ease polarisation. Prudential appears the keenest to speak of the attraction of multi-ties, although it admits that the public could be confused by the situation. According to the managing director of Prudential Financial Services' distribution, working with multi-ties would offer great opportunities. Zurich Financial Services does not plan to become involved with multi-ties, as it believes that this could put consumers off.
