Berkeley Morgan Group, the IFA group of companies, has bought Rapidinsure.co.uk and will run it as a separate online company. Jon Pardoe, Berkeley Morgan's managing director, was critical of Rapidinsure's management and said that measures would be introduced which he believed would enable the company to break even in twelve months.

UK: FOREIGN & COLONIAL OWNED 90% BY EUREKO

Eureko, the financial services and insurance group, has bought 90 per cent of Foreign & Colonial (F&C) for GBu414m from Hypo Vereinsbank and will now merge F&C, which manages around GBu25bn in assets, with its GBu49.7bn company Eureko Global Asset Management (EGAM), both of which will trade under the name F&C.

UK: NU CUTS MORTGAGE PROTECTION AND TERM RATES

Article Abstract:

Norwich Union (UK), insurer, has reduced premiums for online mortgage protection policies by as much as a fifth and for term insurance with critical illness by as much as 15%. A mortgage repayment guarantee backs the reduced rates, to which certain conditions apply.
