UK widens search for Bowman communications system fallbacks

Article Abstract:

Archer Communications Systems Ltd (ACSL), in cooperation with the UK Ministry of Defense, are actively seeking an off-the-shelf replacement for the Army's technically obsolete Clansman radio system. The company, a joint venture between ITT, Racal and British Aerospace, is making the search just in case its 2-billion-pound-sterling ($3.23 billion) revised Bowman radio program fails to meet the Army's standards.
