Unipetrol will probably be privatized in 2002

Article Abstract:

Unipetrol (Kralupy nad Vltavou, Czech Republic), holding petrochemical company, does not expect to be privatized before 2002. The process will be complicated and the state expects to obtain between CEK 8-10 bil from the privatization of its 60% stake by a strategical partner. According to preliminary results, in 2000 Unipetrol saw proceeds of CEK 73 bil, up 42% from 1999. Its net profit after the elimination of minority shareholders increased to CEK 3.2 bil in 2000, up 67% from 1999. Within Unipetrol, only the refinery Paramo (Pardubice, Czech Republic) was not successful. Paramo was acquired by Unipetrol in Dec 2000 and it is not included in the consolidated results. Unipetrol, which has quite a broad product range, incorporates primarily Kaucuk (Czech Republic), Chemopetrol (Czech Republic), Ceska rafinerska (Czech Republic) and Benzina AS (Czech Republic).
