HINDUSTAN ORGANIC NET UP 50% TO Rs9.9 Cr

Article Abstract:

For the second quarter of 1998-99, Hindustan Organic Chemicals posted a net profit of Rs9.9 crore, thereby growing by 50 percent (Rs6.7 crore for the second quarter of 1997-98). HOC's turnover stood at Rs136 crore (Rs127 crore). Its production rose to 128,000 tonne (120,000 tonne) while its operating profit stood at Rs24.4 crore (Rs13.48 crore). For the first half of 1998-99, HOC posted a net profit of Rs1.44 crore (Rs8.2 crore net loss for the first half of 1997-98). Its turnover stood at Rs223.5 crore (Rs221.44 crore). (tsm)

TITAN CLOCKS 16.6% RISE IN NET PROFIT

Article Abstract:

Titan Industries posted 16.64 percent rise in net profit to Rs7.71 crore in the first half of 1998-99 (Rs6.61 crore in the first half of 1997-98). Its sales have increased by 11.37 percent to Rs205.51 crore (Rs184.53 crore). It earned an income of $3.5 million from exports ($3.97 million). It posted an operating profit of Rs18.54 crore (Rs16.68 crore). It sold 20.29 lakh watches (16.84 lakh watches) in the domestic market. (gs)
