Victoria Station facing tower threat

Article Abstract:

Westminster City Council intends to demolish sections of the Victoria railway station to set up a new office tower. Wilkinson Eyre Architects and GMW Partnership are working on schemes for the project. English Heritage and the Victorian Society realize that enhancements are needed for the station, but conservation groups are concerned about the proposals.

Issues are presented concerning the proposals which have been put forward by Westminster City Council to replace part of Victoria Railway Station with a tower of offices. The reaction of conservationists is discussed.
