Vietnam is new frontier for U.S. Airborne Express

Article Abstract:

U.S. Airborne Express VP for international/Far East Bruce Grout believes that the express delivery industry in Asia has a bright future, citing the company's experience in Vietnam as an example. He predicted that the growth of express delivery firms will result in a decrease in rates. The automation of the customs clearance process will help the company stay competitive. Similarly, computerized telecommunications will result in better and faster services.

U.S. textile manufacturers gird for trade reforms

Article Abstract:

American Textile Manufacturers Institute (ATMI) Exec. VP Carlos Moore clarified that the ATMI opposed most-favored-nation status for China because of its trade practices and not because of its exploitation of loopholes in the old rule of origin regime. Moore believes that some sort of orderly transition period is necessary to adequately prepare the US textile industry for a new trading system.
