Vivendi Universal has doubters

Article Abstract:

The merger between Universal Studios and Vivendi has not been received enthusiastically by investors, analysts and the mdia. Its share price dropped on Dec 11, 2000, the day the merged company was floated on Wall Street, Paris and Toronto stock markets. Both companies will bring assets into their union that the other lacks. Universal has its movie studios, film libraries and music assets while Vivendi owns Internet, pay TV and telephony operations. A merged Vivendi Universal would also have revenues of $55 billion.
