WIPRO LAUNCHES EURO CONVERSION BUSINESS

Article Abstract:

The Wipro Infotech group has formed a special EuroPractice Group (EPG) with manpower from the electronic commerce and financial solutions divisions. The group will explore opportunities arising out of the euro conversion. A euro competency centre has been formed to euro-enable applications in financial and retail markets. WipEuro2002, a tool kit for euro projects, has been developed in-house to be used only by Wipro. The EPG has three projects on hand, including one from a million dollar financial services company. The group will work on, among other things, data conversion and planning, information technology, enterprise- wide euro compliance testing, data warehousing and re- engineering. (nr)

WIPRO GE WINS SEI CMM LEVEL 5

Article Abstract:

Wipro GE Medical Systems (WGEMS) has bagged the Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model (SEI CMM) level 5. SEI CMM level 5 is the highest assessment level for software organisations. WGEMS is a joint venture between Wipro and General Electric. It is involved in the development of software for advanced medical applications like MRI and CT. The assessment has been made as per the norms laid down by the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University of USA. (gs)(vr)
