Wal-Mart's profit climbs by 13% amid promotions, U.S. overhaul

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of the United States posted a 13 percent rise in profit to $3.6 billion for the fourth quarter up from $3.2 billion last year. Financial results are due to surging energy prices and uneven revenues. The discount store giant is to introduce "Metro 7" line of women's clothing, increasing advertising circulars and renovating 1,800 stores.
