Wanadoo will acquire Freeserve in stock deal

Wanadoo SA has reached an agreement to acquire Freeserve PLC for approximately 2.52 billion euros. The deal is a merger of the largest Internet service provider (ISP) in Britain with Wanadoo, an ISP based in France.

Wanadoo embraced by France Telecom: buyout of remaining 29.4% will help parent's strategy for consolidated products

Article Abstract:

Wanadoo has received a cash and share offer from France Telecom S.A. for the last 29.4% of Wanadoo that the telecommunications firm does not already own. The deal for France's largest Internet service provider is valued at euro 3.9 billion and would permit France Telecom to introduce new integrated services.

Accor to acquire Red Roof Inns chain

Article Abstract:

French-based Accor SA announced that it will acquire Red Roof Inns Inc. for $613 million (602.3 million euros). Under the terms of the deal, Accor will also assume $502 million in debts. Accor is planning to merge its current low-budget Motel Six chain with Red Roof's 322 hotels in the US. Motel Six has up to 790 hotels in the US. The merged entity will be called Accor Economy Lodging.
