ew laser system has Pentegon shooting for Star Wars

Article Abstract:

The U.S. Department of Defense is running three laser programs, space-based, airborne and ground-based which cost about $500 million a year. TRW, Boeing and Lockheed Martin are involved in these programs as well as in the so-called hit-to-kill systems for which lasers are an alternative.

Lockheed will acquire Titan for $1.8 billion
