Water gardens and aquaria

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom market for aquaria and water gardens grew 15% to 205 million pounds sterling in 1995 from 1990 at current prices, or grew under 2% in real terms. Sales of fish and fish care products reached 49 million pounds sterling in 1995, while sales of outdoor products reached 77 million pounds sterling and indoor products 79 million pounds sterling. The sector for accessories and garden ponds is the only major sector to show growth. The sub-sector for filters, pumps and accessories is also showing good growth. The market is examined.

Europeans abroad

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the overseas travel patterns of Europeans. Results showed that the number of arrivals have increased by 19.7% between 1993 to 1997, reaching about 373 million. The region dominated the world tourism industry, with global arrivals and receipts pegged at between 51% to 59%. Findings also showed that North America was the most popular region for long-haul travel due to weaknesses of the American dollar against several European currencies.
