Why I bought Anglia shares

Article Abstract:

Jeffrey Archer acquired 50,000 Anglia TV stocks for a Kurdish associate, though he had pledged the board of the company that he would not purchase stocks in Anglia, where he wife had a role as a director. Archer had previously not given an account of his actions, but his lawyer has argued that the stocks were not purchased for or by him. This explanation appears inadequate. The order to buy was initially made in Archer's name, and later, after the stocks had been purchased, the stocks were put in the name of the associate.

Televison on trial

Article Abstract:

Critics argue that allowing TV cameras in court means that trials become a type of soap opera, and too much pressure is put on those taking part. Trials may become pulpits for wider topics when TV is involved. Those who defend the usage of TV cameras argue that trials have often attracted publicity before TV cameras were introduced. TV cameras contribute to transparency. The two sides of the argument may both be compelling, but there is a case for using TV cameras in courts with some controls.
