Will Vietnam's war on graft succeed?
Article Abstract:
Vietnam's Communist Party has announced a two-year period of self-criticism aimed at ridding itself of corrupt members. The move is an effort to control corruption which has reached epidemic proportions. The Communist Party's aim is to redeem itself in the eyes of even the most loyal Communists. Another objective is to ease the dissatisfaction felt by the millions of farmers who are experiencing the widening disparities between urban and rural life.
