Losing steam in China

Article Abstract:

An ACNielsen survey claims that the growth rate of advertising in China fell from 37 percent in the first quarter of 2000 to 18 percent during the first quarter of 2001. This drop is attributed to a slowing U.S. economy, and lower consumer spending due to a maturation of the market. Aegis Group PLC Chief Executive Officer Douglas Flynn forecasts advertising growth in 2001 at 15 percent.
