Xstrata PLC of the United Kingdom sweetend its hostile offer for Falconbridge Ltd. of Canada to approximately $19.2 billion (Canadian Dollars). The British mining interest is bidding for the 80 percent of Falconbridge Ltd. it doesn't already own. The merger values Falconbridge Ltd. at $24.1 billion.
