Z-11 completes testing

Article Abstract:

Jingezhen Helicopter Corp's Z-11 helicopter is reported to have completed 358 successful high altitude and cold weather flight trials on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau in southwest China since Sep 1999. As part of the certification program, the flights were conducted by an experienced Russian test pilot. The 'home-made' helicopter, which is believed to be a clone version of the Eurocopter AS350, has been under development since 1991 by the company in partnership with the China Helicopter Research Institute.

Eurocopter's two Japanese distributors, Kawasaho and Sony Trading

Article Abstract:

Eurocopter Service Japan (ESJ) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Kawasho Corp and Sony Trading Corp to co-ordinate future activities under the ESJ name to improve efficiency. Eurocopter will own a 10% stake in the new entity, which will become part of the new Challenge Asia Pacific Eurocopter (CAPE) network in the Asia Pacific Region. Based on a similar concept established in North America, CAPE will market and support both military and civil helicopters in the region.
