ZEE TELEFILMS H1 NET UP 31%

Zee Telefilms Ltd (ZTL) recorded a 31 percent growth in its net profit at Rs29.43 crore in the 6 months ended September 1998 (Rs22.46 crore in the same period of 1997). Its total income increased by 36 percent at Rs104.80 crore (Rs77 crore). Its advertising bookings increased by 33 percent at Rs153 crore (Rs116 crore). Its annualised earning per share was Rs31.5 (Rs24.2). The financial results of ZTL include the operations of Ambience Space Sellers Ltd. The ZTL scrip trades at Rs658.50 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. ZEE TELEFILMS NINE-MONTH NET MAY GO UP BY 36%

Zee Telefilms Ltd, the media and entertainment company, has projected its net profit at Rs44 crore for nine months ending December 31, 1998. This is 36 percent higher compared to Rs32 crore net profit posted during the nine months ending December 31, 1997. The gross income is expected to be Rs170 crore for the period (Rs130 crore during the same period in 1997-98). The gross advertising bookings may touch Rs260 crore (Rs206 crore). (um)

8Credit Analysis and Research Ltd has upgraded the rating given to the fixed deposit programme of Zee Telefilms Ltd from AA to AA+, but has reduced the amount to Rs3 crore from Rs10 crore. A debt- to-equity ratio of 0.32 and an interest coverage of 8.3 as on March 31, 1998 is factored in the upgraded rating. (khr)
