TVS SRICHAKRA EYES URBAN MARKETS

TVS Srichakra Limited engaged in the manufacture of tyres for two wheelers, has decided to consolidate its position in the urban markets to boost market share. The company has a good presence in the rural and semi-urban two wheeler tyre markets. Its strategy is to focus on the three main components of the two wheeler market - vehicle manufacturers, dealers and customers. The company will adopt a highly personalised service oriented approach towards them. As a first step. TVS has been organising interactive meets with dealers, consumers and mechanics at regular intervals. (uh)

GOOD YEAR TO ROLL OUT CHAIN OF EXCLUSIVE RETAIL OUTLETS

Article Abstract:

In an attempt to enhance its presence in the retail tyre market as well as provide its customers with top quality services and products, Goodyear India Ltd (GIL) plans to open numerous exclusive retail outlets across India. The outlets will offer the entire range of Goodyear car tyres as well as some of GIL's international products imported from their facilities abroad. The outlets will be equipped with modern imported tyre servicing facilities like wheel aligning and balancing machines. GIL opened its first such exclusive showroom in Calcutta. (tsm)

FALCON EYES REPLACEMENT TYRE MARKET

Article Abstract:

Falcon Tyres Ltd (FTL), a part of Jumbo group of Manu Chhabria, wants to focus on replacement tyre market. FTL is hoping to post revenue of around Rs30 crore in the replacement tyre segment in 1998-99. Its Bangalore depot, which handles replacement tyre division, is currently posting sales of 4,000- 5,000 tyres per month. FTL is also in the process of completing formalities in taking up marketing of cycle and farm tyres. Now 90 percent of FTL production goes to original equipment manufacturer segment (gs)
