Zetor in the black field
Article Abstract:
Zetor (Brno, Czech Republic), tractor manufacturer, saw an operating profit of CEK 2.498 mil in Dec 2000, for the first time. Over the past 2.5 years the firm was unprofitable. Its total 2000 economy will result in a high loss. Zetor's series tractor production was re-started after a 19-month period at the end of Oct 2000, due to a credit of CEK 700 mil from the state bank Konsolidacni banka (KOB) (Czech Republic). According to plan, Zetor should produce 7,000 tractors in 2001. The credit from KOB is a part of the firm's revitalization. The revitalization should be completed by the sale of Zetor to a strategical partner. Benzina SP to be wound up
Article Abstract:
Benzina SP (Prague, Czech Republic), petrol and diesel distributor, will be wound up under the control of the Ministry of Industries and Trade of the Czech Republic in 2001. A reason for the decision is a CEK 651 mil tax in arrears and a consequent penalty of CEK 2.2 bil. Benzina SP is a state enterprise. It originated as a residue firm after the separation of the joint-stock company Benzina AS (Czech Republic), which now belongs to the holding petrochemical company Unipetrol (Czech Republic). Unlike Benzina AS, Benzina SP has petrol stations in less lucrative localities throughout the Czech Republic.

Zetor can breathe out
Article Abstract:
Zetor (Brno, Czech Republic), tractor manufacturer, is in the process of restructuring. The firm re-started its production in Oct 2000. It saw an operating profit of CEK 2.5 mil in Dec 2000. It has sold 203 tractors to 16 countries including six pieces for the Czech Republic since the beginning of 2001. Zetor's majority shareholder is Konsolidacni banka (Czech Republic).
