Bar owners sue over ATM machine leases

Article Abstract:

The article discusses how an attorney for a group of Pennsylvania bar owners filed a class-action claim against the leasing firms that financed automatic teller machines (ATMs) through Credit Card Center of Philadelphia before it filed for bankruptcy protection. The company promised to pay the bar owners rebates of more than $250 per month, but its checks bounced.

Advanta shares surge after news of settlement

Advanta Corp. shares hit a six-year high after it agreed to settle a long-running multimillion-dollar dispute with the owners of its old consumer credit-card arm. The settlement follows Fleet's sale to Bank of America Corp., which folded what was once Advanta's consumer card arm into its own card operation.
