Long search is over for Google

Article Abstract:

The share prices of Google Inc. have increased by 26 percent in two days of trading, following the company's initial public offering (IPO). The problems that had plagued Google since it applied to become a publicly traded company in April 2004 seem to have vanished in the minds of investors once the stock actually began trading.

Cisco shares fall 11% after its optimism on sales fades

Article Abstract:

The shares of Cisco Systems Inc. witnessed a fall of nearly 11% in shares after the company expected the sales to go down in the second quarter of 2004. Technology stocks wavered in July 2004 and IBM (International Machines Corp.), Intel Corp. and Microsoft Corp. offered a weaker-than-expected profit outlook for the fiscal year.

Disney rollercoaster in ledgers, not parks

Walt Disney Co.'s share price rose steadily after Michael Eisner became chief executive in September 1984. But the stock price has badly trailed the Standard & Poor's 500 index since 1998 as recession and worldwide concern about terrorism affected Disney's businesses.
