Tenet plans to improve charity care

Article Abstract:

Tenet Healthcare Corp says it plans to improve charity care at its Philadelphia-area hospitals. According to Tenet's Lee Domanico, the hospital chain will have a fully developed charity care policy by Sep 1999. One of Tenet's leading critics, the Philadelphia Unemployment Project, says it is optimistic that the company will address the problems with its treatment of the uninsured. According to Domanico, the former Allegheny health system hospitals have provided inpatient services to over 2300 uninsured patients since the acquisition by Tenet in Nov 1998.
