EBay's quarterly earnings rise 76%

Article Abstract:

Brisk sales of laptops and other back-to-school gear, as well as booming growth in England and South Korea have helped eBay Inc. profit surge more than 76 percent in the third quarter of 2004, as compared to that of 2003. The company, considered to be one of the most financially conservative in Silicon Valley, has reported the third-quarter earnings of $182.35 million, and is expecting $3.25 billion in 2004 sales.

Toys R Us strategy may lure bidders

Article Abstract:

The second largest toy retailer in US, Toys R Us Inc. decided to decrease its toy prices in comparison with the toy prices of Wal-Mart store Inc. to help attract the customers for its primary remaining business cause. The company's new strategy of discounts enhanced the bidding value for the toys sold by the Toys R Us Inc. company.
