With final OK, Peco, Unicom complete merger

The article discusses the official merger of Philadelphia's Peco Energy Co. and Chicago's Unicom Corp. into one company. The proposed $7.8 billion merger was approved by the SEC. Exelon Corp., the new company, will begin trading over the New York Stock Exchange on Monday, using EXC as its ticker symbol.

Pa. agrees to Peco, Unicom Merger

Article Abstract:

The proposed $7.8 billion merger between Philadelphia, Penn.-based Peco Energy Co. and Chicago, Ill.-based Unicom Corp. has been approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. The combined company, which will be the biggest electric utility in the United States, will be named Exelon Corp.
