Labor still recovering from Reagan's legacy

Article Abstract:

Ronald Reagan had fired 11500 air-traffic controllers engaged in an illegal strike in 1981, thus setting a new form for labor-management relations that are still debated in 2004. Labor historians state that Reagan validated a souring of attitudes about unions and presided over a conservative swing by the National Labor Relations Board, as a part of a shift from which the organized labor is still recovering.

Wobblies' fight: Look for the union-made latte

Article Abstract:

The Wobblies, also known as the Industrial Workers of the World, has taken initial steps toward unionizing a Starbucks Corp. coffee shop in New York City.
