Lyme drug gets a nod from FDA

Article Abstract:

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gave its approval to the first Lyme disease vaccine. The FDA approval means that the vaccine will be made available on the market soon. However, for residents living in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, both of which are infested by ticks, the vaccine will not be a "cure-all" treatment. The Lymerix vaccine, developed by SmithKline Beecham, will not work for everyone as approximately 78% of the people who have taken the drug are expected to fully benefit from the drug.
