Mexico becomes Pa.'a second best export market

Article Abstract:

After Mexico signed the North American Free Trade Agreement, many thought that the main result would be the influx of American companies into Mexico. An unexpected benefit of NAFTA is that Mexico is now the 2nd ranked largest export market - tied with Japan. Governor Ridge is on a 5 day trade mission of behalf of Pennsylvania's second largest export market. Chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electronics and industrial machinery are at the top of Pennsylvania's export list to Mexico.

Pennsylvania's new gambling industry would deliver businesses invisible to slot players but potentially worth tens of millions of dollars to those cashing in on the new law, slot-machine distributors. It is reported that slots law would generate additional tax income for the state and create new jobs.
