Prosperity: It's heaven on earth

Article Abstract:

Federal Research Bank of St. Louis' report indicates that economists searching for reasons that some nations are richer than others have found that those with a wide belief in hell are less corrupt and more prosperous. Researchers at the regional Federal Reserve bank acknowledged the importance of productivity and investment in the economic process but looked at some unconventional efforts to explain differences in national prosperity.

First Penn changes as the Fed watches

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia in the memorandum of understanding ordered the First Penn Bank to add experienced loan and operations officers, tighter loan rules and cut expenses. The First Penn Bank has lowered its fees and deposit rates according to the Federal Insurance Corp. data.
