SAP also trains sights on smaller customers

Article Abstract:

European software giant SAP AG is aggressively targeting midsize and small businesses, as revenue growth from the Fortune 500 mega-companies has slowed. Though the company has not disclosed the number of new customers since Bill McDermott became president and CEO of the company in Newtown Square, its base of midsize customers has doubled in the first quarter of 2004 from the same period in 2003.

Gaming as a degree: Colleges and students both hope to ride the video-game boom

Rising student interest in game development as a career, and declining enrollment in traditional engineering and computer science courses at some schools have spurred the industry expansion. The video-game industry has become increasingly mainstream with the popularity of games such as The Sims and Madden NFL.

Retailers place hopes on more late shoppers

Article Abstract:

The 2004 Christmas holiday sales have been fairly sluggish due to a number of reasons including higher oil and gas prices. Many retailers are placing their hopes on more last minute shoppers, as a survey has indicated that about 18 percent of consumers had not finished their holiday shopping.
