Article Abstract:

Graphic designer Karol Maw, who was fired after she refused to sign an agreement promising not to work for competitors or customers, took the company to court. However, behind such issues where concern has raised whether companies can fire employees, there are conflicting interests of businesses, which want to safeguard company secrets, and employees who do not any want limits to earn a living.

Martha Stewart begins her sentence

Article Abstract:

Martha Stewart reported to prison on October 8 2004, slipping past waiting supporters and reporters to begin serving a five-month sentence for lying about a stock sale. After her prison term, she must serve five months of home confinement and hopes to return back to her work in March 2004.

Paying the price of free trade

Martinsville area is which was locally known as the sweatshirt capital of the world is battered by import competition, which resulted in shutdown of the plant. The shutdown of Martinsville due to free trade has lead to left out thousands of jobs.
